Neuschwanstein Castle and its surrounding area have been the theme of my recent pics on this blog. It is located near Fussen in Bavaria,roughly 2 hours from Munich. The famous makeover of the castle started in 1869,on the instructions of the then king,Ludwig II. The renovations,however,were never finished. Building work immediately came to a halt in 1865,with the king's untimely death. Within 6 weeks,however,the castle was open to the public at Ludwig's family's request...
