After months of worrying about whether I would be able to renew my spouse visa (after being out of Japan for 27 months), I received it in "double-quick time" this morning. This is in "stark contrast" to the visa troubles one can expect when trying to enter Saudi Arabia. My stay there was very worthwhile, however, the less said about the visa process, the better!
