A few days ago I came across an interesting story in the Daily Yomiyuri. I read that the Japanese men's judo team had failed to win a single gold medal at the recent World Judo Championships. The newspaper seemed to be 'lamenting'the decline of one of Japan's traditional sports. The women,on the other hand,picked-up 2 golds! What has happened to this once-mighty sport for male judoka?
