A new phrase?

I remembered a very modern phrase that may interest some of you. When I was thinking about how many Japanese (and people from other countries for that matter) view the UK,they do so through "rose-tinted glasses". Do you have any ideas what this means?

This is a very hot topic at the moment in the UK. Everybody seems to have an opinion about a social issue that has been "brewing" for some time.コメントありがとうございます。
