Since I have returned to Japan I have noiticed how little has changed as regards the popular music scene here. If anything, it has got worse. I refer to the countdown of the best selling singles of 2012 on December 30th. My wife and I noticed that AKB48 were No. 1. I think my wife's reaction summed it up best when she said," What on earth.....?". Now, don't get me wrong, I fully accept that both boy and girl bands are very popular in many countries-including my own. However, when I saw this group "dancing" on a beach wearing bikinis, words failed me....
Meanwhile, back to the good old days....
